About

Unlock the Power of Play

The International Play Association (England) is a charity dedicated to promoting the child's right to play. We are part of a global network that serves as a web of knowledge, experience, and resources dedicated to fulfilling the UNCRC's Article 31, which enshrines a child’s right to play.

Through national and international initiatives, we seek to mobilise the voices of advocates, practitioners, scholars, and policymakers who share the commitment to crafting a world where all children, regardless of their environment or background, are able to experience the transformative power of play. At the core of our activities is a belief in the transformative power of play, the potential of creative expression, and the unique voices of every child.

We understand play as more than simply a recreational pastime; it is a fundamental human right and essential for the development and well-being of children. Through our advocacy and outreach, we strive to highlight the significance of play in the areas of developmental psychology, education, health, and social, cultural, and economic development. We offer a variety of memberships. By joining IPA England, you can be part of something greater and work towards making society more just and equitable for all.

Facilitating the exchange of evidence and experience, and contributing to the creation of a society where the voices and experiences of children are honoured, the IPA aims to ensure a future where all children are able to thrive and develop their full potential, whatever their circumstances or background. We invite you to join us in this important work and learn more about our initiatives.
